Digicel blocks Antigua and Barbuda spectrum confiscation

Digicel Antigua and Barbuda has managed to block the government from confiscating any of its 850 MHz spectrum allocation following a court action, reports local news portal Demerara Waves. The operator last month brought a court action against the government's requirement to share mobile spectrum with state-owned rival Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA), which prime minister Gaston Browne said had been placed "at a disadvantage." The court order secured by Digicel prevents the immediate confiscation of spectrum while also providing the necessary time for the courts to examine the
