Digicel boosts capex to nearly USD 500 mln this year

Irish businessman Denis O'Brien, owner of the Digicel mobile group, plans to launch a "massive push" this year to expand his global telecoms business into next-generation mobile and fixed-line services. Digicel, which operates in the Caribbean and Central American, plans to invest nearly USD 500 million in its infrastructure development this year, the Financial Times reports, citing Denis O'Brien. "We're surging capex this year. We think there are great opportunities to go for more market share and new products. We have a massive push", O'Brien said.
