Digicel helps Guyanese govt set up 55 ICT hubs

Monday 12 June 2017 | 13:58 CET | News
Bermuda-based telecommunications group Digicel has partnered with Guyana's telecommunications ministry to set up 55 ICT connectivity hubs across the country, 30 of which are already operational. In a statement, the ministry said its eGovernment unit had created the hubs to give over 98,000 residents access to free internet and ICT skills courses. Digicel Guyana helped extend the government's network into communities in which the operator is already providing services, including Mabaruma, Port Kaituma, Matthews Ridge, Kwakwani, Bartica and Madhia.
