DirecTV launches 4G services in Colombia
DirecTV has launched 4G services in the Colombian market. Dubbed 'DirecTV Net', the service will initially be available in the cities of Santa Marta, Cali and Barranquilla, Portafolio reports, citing company VP Maria Elvira Restrepo. The 4G service will be initially available in Santa Marta, Cali, Barranquilla, Chia, Palmira, Barrancabermeja and Monteria. According to previous reports, the operator plans to gradually expand its 4G internet services across Colombia, and plans to reach 57 of the country's lagest cities within the next five years. DirecTV currently provides satellite pay-TV services in Colombia, and plans to initially offer 4G fixed internet services to its existing 900,000 pay-TV subscribers.
