DirecTV, Metrotel ink Buenos Aires FTTH rollout deal

DirecTV Argentina, now owned by local holding company Grupo Werthein, said it has reached an agreement with operator Metrotel to expand its fibre to the home network in the Buenos Aires province. Initially, the partners will connect around 20,000 premises in Pilar and Ingeniero Maschwitz in the northern part of the province, allowing users to access the internet and the DirecTV catalogue at speeds of 100Mbps.
