Dish Q3 results down after Hurricane Maria

Thursday 9 November 2017 | 14:21 CET | News
Dish reported third quarter results it says were heavily impacted by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Revenues fell to USD 3.58 billion from 3.77 billion the year before, while the net profit decreased to USD 297 million from 318 million. Diluted earnings per share came out lower at USD 0.57, against 0.67 year-on-year. The companies said the hurricanes caused widespread loss of power and infrastructure and that most customers in these areas have not been able to resume services, as of 30 September. The company has paused services for these customers.
