Dish sues Univision over breach of streaming patents

Dish Network has filed a lawsuit against Univision on grounds that the Spanish-language broadcaster is infringing a series of patents connected to adaptive bit-rate streaming, reports Light Reading. The patents are designed to reduce or eliminate buffering and were acquired by Dish when it took over Move Networks for USD 45 million in 2011, said the report, adding that they are for exclusive use with Dish's OTT streaming service Sling TV.
