Disney will also bring Marvel, Star Wars films to new streaming service

Monday 11 September 2017 | 09:36 CET | News
Disney CEO Robert Iger said the company will be offerings its Marvel and "Star Wars" properties through the subscription video service it is planning to launch in 2019, rather than with Netflix, the Wall Street Journal reported. Disney will therefore definitely not be renewing its distribution deal with Netflix. Disney announced last month its intention to launch its own direct-to-consumer streaming service but was not sure whether the company would include Marvel and "Star Wars" movies on its own service or continue to license them to Netflix.
