Docomo intros biometric authentication for online services

Japanese operator NTT Docomo has announced that users of Touch ID(R)-compatible handsets (iOS 9.0 or above) will be able to access Docomo's online services using biometric authentication via the new d Account app. Docomo will start offering the Account app free of charge on 9 March. The app is designed to eliminate the need to enter a password (4-digit network password) or other d Account password when Touch ID users access Docomo's shopping sites, such as d delivery or d shopping.
