Docomo, MediaTek to develop 5G access technologies

Japanese operator NTT Docomo has agreed with MediaTek of Taiwan to jointly develop and carry out trials of technology that will enable increased data capacity for the 5G mobile communication system expected to be launched in Japan by 2020. The agreement expands Docomo's 5G partnerships to 13 vendors.
