Docomo strikes 5G deal with China's CAICT

Japanese operator NTT Docomo has signed a memorandum of understanding with China Academy of Information and Communication Technology (CAICT) to jointly investigate the standardization of 5G technologies and available frequency bands, effective immediately. Under the terms of the agreement, Docomo will start participating in the 5G trial launched by the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group, which was established at CAICT's initiative in February 2013, to verify 5G technologies and systems.
