DoCoMo to offer cloud services over LTE network

Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo plans to offer cloud services over its LTE network, which is set to launch at the end of 2010. The operator expects "handset-network collaboration", taking advantage of LTE's low latency to use the network to deliver features now offered by the handset. The Japanese operator is deploying LTE early as it offered additional capacity to support video, citing CEO Ryuji Yamada, TelecomsEurope reported. DoCoMo's view of video will go beyond traditional movie and TV programming to include shopping, security and tourist, restaurant and health information. DoCoMo
