Dominican regulator to allocate USD 30 mln to DTT decoders

Monday 22 March 2021 | 11:52 CET | News
The Dominican Republic's telecommunications regulator Indotel announced plans to free up USD 30 million to fund the acquisition of set-top boxes ahead of next year's migration to digital terrestrial television (DTT), reports local portal El Caribe, citing Indotel chairman Nelson de Jesus Arroyo. "We are working to achieve the analogue blackout in the Dominican Republic in September 2022, enabling all channels to work with the digital system," said Arroyo, adding that the investment would allow financially vulnerable households to access DTT via the free STBs.
