Dominican Republic amends Orange-Tricom merger conditions

Just a couple of weeks after approving Altice's request to merge its Orange Dominicana and Tricom units, Dominican Republic telecommunications watchdog Indotel has amended the corresponding conditions. In response to pressure from local operators, Altice will now be required to roll out broadband services offering mobile speeds of at least 10Mbps in five rural provinces – Bahoruco, Barahona, Dajabon, Elias Pina and Pedernales.
