Draka sees communication cable ops rebound as H1 sales rise

Dutch cable producer Draka said it sees signs of cautious recovery in several cable market segments, after reporting revenues for the first half of the year up 12 percent to EUR 1.14 billion from the year before, pulled up by higher copper prices. The producer sees recovery in its communication cable activities, as well as other segments. Sales at Draka's Communications division rose to EUR 384.7 million, from 376.6 million in the second half of last year, and 359.6 million the year before. The operating result at the division was also up to EUR 17.2 million, from 16.9 million in H2 2009, and
