DT, Turkcell, MTS among Telekom Slovenije bidders

Deutsche Telekom, Turkey's Turkcell and Russia's MTS, as well as several investment funds, have expressed interest in the public invitation for the privatisation of Telekom Slovenije, reports Finance. The deadline for expressions of interest expired at the end of April, and Slovenia's Minister of Finance, Uros Cufer, said that the process of collecting non-binding bids will start soon. The Slovenian operator could have a new owner as early as the autumn. On sale is a package of 4.75 million shares, or 72.75 percent of the company, owned by the Slovenian state, Kapitalska Druzba (KAD), insurance company Triglav and Pozavarovalnica Sava. Up for sale are also the 185,270 shares of other shareholders, which corresponds to 2.83 percent of the total number of shares. The current price per share of Telekom Slovenije on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange is EUR 140. The state expects to get about EUR 900 million for its shareholding, according to investment analysts.
