Dutch consumer interest in FTTH falling - survey

Tuesday 6 September 2016 | 09:46 CET | News
Fewer Dutch consumers expect fibre to become the norm for broadband in the next ten years. The percentage fell to 48 percent in the latest survey by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel from 55 percent in 2015. Furthermore, fewer households are planning to take a fixed service (internet, TV or telephony) over FttH, at 33 percent, down to a similar level as in 2013-2014. Almost three in ten households would like to have fibre, but it's not yet available in their area. More would like to see government support for rolling out fibre in outlying areas, at 42 percent of consumers in April this year.
