The Dutch Cyber Security Council (CSR) wants reports of data breaches to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) to be made available for scientific and statistical research, under strict conditions. The information could be used, for example, to establish general advice and recommendations for improving the security of personal data. CSR asked Grapperhaus to agree with the proposed research project, which would last 1.5 year, and to make the necessary financial resources available. The minister received the recommendation positively.
