Dutch cybersecurity centre handles 779 incidents in 2013

The Netherlands' National Cyber Security Centre said it dealt with 779 incidents last year. It issued 91 alerts on its service waarschuwingdienst.nl, answered 80 requests for advice and assisted Dutch banks dealing with phishing attacks 35 times. The centre said there was a general increase in online incidents last year, and the government and industry are taking steps to deal with the problems structurally. A growing number companies and organisations are also improving disclosure policies, to report incidents to the public and share information with authorities and industry counterparts.
