Dutch data centre industry aims for Amsterdam region growth policy by year-end

The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is closer to reaching a sustainable growth policy for the construction of new data centres. A temporary pause in the construction of new data centres was put in place in July by two municipalities in the region, Amsterdam and Haarlemmermeer, which said the energy demand from data centres was too high for the region's infrastructure to bear. Since then, discussions have taken place with sector organisation Dutch Data Centre Association (DDA) and government parties on both a regional and national level, DDA said.
