Dutch data protection agency will be lenient with GDPR fines at early stages

The Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgevens - AP) will not immediately start imposing heavy fines after 25 May on municipalities that have not yet completed implementing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Fines will only be imposed at the beginning if is obvious something is very wrong, says NVG Realisie, in response to concerns from municipalities about enforcement by the AP of the new privacy law.
