Dutch digital music market grows 41% in H1

The Dutch digital music market grew by 41.1 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2016 to a value of EUR 44 million, according to the industry group NVPI. Digital accounted for 61.5 percent of the total music market in the period. Sales of physical music goods rose 2.4 percent, led by growth in vinyl sales. In total, the music market increased 23.2 percent to EUR 72.3 million in sales in the six months. Streaming was the biggest sales driver, with revenues up 52 percent. NVPI expects continued strong growth in the rest of the year.
