Dutch digital penetration reaches 86% in H1

The share of Dutch households watching digital TV has risen to 86 percent in the first half of 2015, from 84 percent a year ago, according to the Media Standard Survey by TNS Nipo for ratings group SKO and other TV organisations. The survey found that 55 percent watch digital TV over cable, 13 percent over IPTV on DSL connections and 8 percent over FTTH. Around 7 percent receive digital TV over the DTT service Digitenne and 6 percent have a satellite dish. In addition, 36 percent of households have digital video recorders, including 26 percent in a set-top box and 13 percent in a DVD player.
