Dutch fibre subscribers pass 750,000
The number of Dutch households with a fibre broadband subscription passed 750,000 in November, according to the Telecompaper FTTH Monitor. Almost 84 percent use the Reggefiber network, while the remainder have a connection with CIF or one of the small local networks. Each month, around 90,000 subscribers are added. 
Fibre homes activated in the Netherlands

Compared to November 2013, the total base has increased by around 100,000. However, growth has slowed in the past 12 months compared to previous years. Telecompaper expects growth to pick up again now as KPN is since July connecting broadband customers automatically to fibre in areas where it's available. This is increasing fibre penetration on existing networks.

Reggefiber adds 110,000 homes passed in Q4

Dutch FTTH operator Reggefiber expanded its network in Q4 2014 to pass another 110,000 homes, good for a total 2.003 million at year-end. The company announced already in mid-December that it passed the 2 million mark. In total, it added 315,000 homes to the network in 2014, more than the 250,000 planned. The number of homes activated increased to 677,000 at year-end, a net addition of 54,000 in the fourth quarter, a record for the company. The network penetration reached 33.8 percent at the end of 2014.

Vodafone files lawsuit against KPN takeover of Reggefiber

Vodafone Netherlands has filed a lawsuit against the Dutch regulator ACM over the approval of KPN's takeover of FTTH operator Reggefiber. The operator confirmed the suit to Dutch website Tweakers, but declined to say why it was contesting the transaction. Vodafone last year expanded its fixed broadband services nationwide and is active as a service provider on Reggefiber's network. Fibre reaches 2 mln homes passed in Netherlands

Dutch broadband customers on cable networks are increasingly enjoying faster speeds. Almost all (98%) cable internet subscribers had at least 10 Mbps at the end of June 2014, up from three-quarters a year earlier. KPN buys rest of Reggefiber for EUR 610 million

KPN has agreed to acquire the remaining 40 percent in its FTTH joint venture Reggefiber for EUR 610 million. At the end of October, KPN received regulatory clearance to raise its stake in Reggefiber to 60 percent. The additional 9 percent bought then from Reggeborgh cost EUR 161 million and gave KPN management control of the venture. KPN to roll out 200 Mbps with bonded vectoring from Q1

KPN plans to start the roll-out of VDSL bonded vectoring for wholesale customers in Q1 2015. The SDF pair bonding technique allows the operator to double the maximum download speed to 200 Mbps. The bonded vectoring service should be available in 50 areas in Q1 and expand to all the VDSL Buitenringen in Q2 and Q3, in total around 2.25 million addresses. At the same time VDSL Vectoring with speeds of 100 Mbps should be available in early 2015 to all the 2.25 million homes and businesses on the Buitenringen. Reggefiber increases network penetration in Q3

Reggefiber added another 72,000 homes passed to its FTTH network in the third quarter, for a total 1.893 million at the end of September. Since the start of this year, the network has expanded by 205,000 homes passed. The number of homes activated increased in Q3 by 37,000 to a total 623,000.
