Dutch film industry loses EUR 78 mln a year from downloads

The Dutch film industry loses over EUR 78 million a year from illegal downloads, according to research collected by MarkMonitor, Ivir/Centerdata and Considerati. They said this is a conservative estimate, representing likely only the minimum revenue lost by the industry. The amount is equal to around a quarter of potential revenues in the Dutch film industry. According to the research, 28 percent of the Dutch have downloaded or streamed at least one film from an illegal source in the past year.
