Dutch govt blocks ASML sale to China after US pressure - report

The Dutch government has blocked ASML from selling some of its chipmaking equipment to a Chinese customer following pressure from American authorities, Reuters reports. The Trump administration mounted an extensive campaign to block the sale to China, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo lobbying the Netherlands government and White House officials sharing a classified intelligence report with the country's Prime Minister, people familiar with the effort told the news agency.
