Dutch govt disappointed no open cable in EC Ziggo decision

The Dutch government has expressed disappointment with the European Commission's decision not to require cable operators UPC and Ziggo to open up their networks to third-party service providers as part of the regulatory approval of their merger. In response to questions from parliament on the EC decision, the responsible minister Henk Kamp said the government could understand the EC's decision not to impose conditions on the deal. While the EC considered sufficiently the various consequences of the two largest cable operators, the government is still disappointed that they were not subjected
