Dutch govt investigating GSM-R interference

The Dutch ministries of economic affairs and of infrastructure and the environment are investigating GSM-R and the problem of interference. Dutch rail companies use GSM-R spectrum, which is wedged between other licenses for mobile spectrum. The rail companies have said that the latest issue of licenses in the 800 and 900 bands, as well as the rollout of 3G and 4G, will disrupt communication with locomotives. Equipment must be adjusted to eliminate this interference and that costs money. Wilma Mansveld, the state secretary for the ministry of infrastructure and the environment, answered
