Dutch govt keep data retention law as is, for the moment

The Dutch government does not want to change how the data retention law gets carried out, the ministry of safety and justice said. The Upper House of Parliament formally asked about the data retention law after the European Court went against the Dutch version. The court overturned the data retention directive and the government is now working on a new version. A bill is currently in consultation. The Upper Chamber (CDA, VVD, SP and GroenLinks) acknowledged that the law cannot be maintained in its current form after the court ruling. The Dutch State Council also endorses the view. The
