The Dutch government will present a new digital connectivity action plan by this summer, the state secretary Mona Keijzer said in a brief to Parliament. The plan will outline how the country can ensure high-quality connectivity for a wide range of applications at competitive prices.

The government has been in talks with stakeholders since last autumn to gather input for the plan, Keijzer said. These focused on developing the right conditions and removing barriers to a good digital infrastructure, covering issues such as spectrum, local policy, investments, continuity and network innovation. The government also conducted its own research, in areas such as local permits for mobile networks and preparations for 5G.
