Dutch govt proposes industry talks on legal online content

The Dutch government has offered to mediate between internet providers and copyright organisations on efforts to reduce illegal downloading and increase legal content offerings online. The two sides currently have no formal platform for talks, and a number of legal cases are underway, led by the copyright enforcement group Brein. The Dutch justice minister told parliament that he sees a role for the government to invite the groups to the table, and a first meeting could be held in June.
