Dutch govt proposes law for streaming services to invest in local content

Cinemas, streaming services and broadcasters should invest part of their annual sales in the Netherlands in the production of Dutch films and services, the culture ministry said in a brief to parliament. This follows a warning last year from the Culture Council that international providers such as Netflix and Disney were becoming more dominant, without making a meaningful contribution to Dutch cultural production.
