Dutch govt rejects motions to increase spectrum for newcomer

Dutch economic affairs minister Maxime Verhagen does not plan to change the spectrum set aside for newcomers in the upcoming auction. This will remain at 2x10MHz. This follows two opposing amendments about the 800MHz band introduced. The lower house asked for a reservation of 2x15MHz, as well as 2x5MHz. The government is likely to increase the roll-out requirement to 40 percent of the territory. The ban on spectrum resale, proposed by the Labour party (PvdA), was rejected by the minister, as the law already leaves this possibility open for evaluation. The house adopted the four proposed
