Dutch govt starts campaign to protect against device theft

Leading ICT companies in the Netherlands have signed up to an action plan with the Dutch government to raise awareness among consumers on how to protect their devices and prevent the loss of personal data. Around 80 percent of Dutch consumer risk losing personal data and content due to theft of phones, laptops and tablets, as they have not set up security systems for remotely wiping the devices. The 'Boefproef' campaign was first started by the justice ministry in 2014 to help curb device threat, and the number of smartphone thefts has fallen by 30 percent since then, according to the
