Dutch govt to look into municipal role for 5G deployment

The municipalities say that licensing itself cannot be substantially accelerated. The lead time is often four weeks and there is not so much that can be eliminated. The report that to optimally facilitate the rollout of 5G, there is not much profit to be gained in shortening the application procedure. Experience with municipalities shows that the long preparation time lies mainly in the preliminary consultation (talks with residents via information meetings, possible field strength calculations/measurements) and finding a suitable location, and not so much the granting of the permit itself.
