Dutch govt to require near-nationwide coverage for 700 MHz band

Friday 23 March 2018 | 10:48 CET | News
The Dutch government plans to impose a near-nationwide coverage requirement on the 700 MHz band when the frequencies are auctioned. Within two years, operators will need to cover at least 98 percent of the territory in each municipality with services. The technology-neutral requirement is based on outdoor coverage and comes with a minimum speed of 30/3 Mbps, rising to 100/10 Mbps within five years. The conditions are currently open to public consultation.
