Dutch govt to tighten coverage requirements at next auction

Friday 16 December 2016 | 09:52 CET | News
The Dutch government plans to add new coverage requirements to spectrum licences in the next auction, in order to ensure everyone has a good signal, the minister for Economic Affairs, Henk Kamp announced. The Dutch 4G mobile networks are already among the top ten in the world, with coverage at 99 percent, and the government wants to make sure the good coverage continues. In early 2017 it will publish a position paper on the spectrum plans, and the next auction is expected to take place in 2019.
