Dutch increasingly turn to apps for communications needs

Dutch consumers are increasingly turning to mobile applications for their communication needs, with almost 70 percent of smartphone users downloading apps in June, from 50 percent the year before, according to the latest study from Telecompaper. Games are still the most popular apps (60% of smartphone users), followed by instant messaging ((51%) and social networking apps (47%), while 30 percent have installed apps for making voice calls. For its monthly "Dutch Apps Market" report, Telecompaper looked at the services and habits of 2500 consumers aged 15-64. Facebook is the single most popular
