Dutch intelligence services did not make use of Prism

Tuesday 25 June 2013 | 08:45 CET | News
Interior Minister Ronald Plasterk said that Dutch intelligence agencies AIVD and MIVD did not make use of information from US programme Prism, under which US intelligence service NSA and federal police FBI culled online data from million of US and international citizens, De Telegraaf reported. Plasterk noted that Dutch intelligence services must always get government approval before accessing unsolicited online data from Dutch citizens. Requests are subject to strict conditions. There are no alternative ways to generate such data.
