Dutch MP puts spectrum regulator attention back on newcomers

Dutch Labour MP Martijn van Dam says that spectrum regulator Agentschap Telecom will have not lived up to its agreements if, at the upcoming auction, blocks reserved for newcomers finally end up in the hands of established players, Webwereld reported. The regulator said that five parties would take part in the frequencies auctions. A few newcomers have presented themselves but two out of the three blocks of 5 MHz -in the 800 MHz and 900 MHz band- reserved for newcomers have not seen any subscribers.
