Dutch MPs add cookie requirements in latest amendments

Friday 17 June 2011 | 11:09 CET | News
The lower house of the Dutch parliament has moved the vote on the proposed amendments to the Telecoms Act to 21 June from 14 June. Until that date, MPs can submit additional amendments. The PVV party has given its support to the net neutrality amendment, and the proposal from Kees Verhoeven was also signed by Jhim van Bemmel, giving it a majority in the house. The amendment prevents operators from limiting or blocking certain applications unless it forms part of legitimate network management. The party SGP would also like to see filtering allowed to exclude indecent and blasphemous material.
