Dutch operators expand public transport NFC payment tests

Friday 21 April 2017 | 09:10 CET | News
KPN, Vodafone, Translink and Dutch public transport operators announced plans to continue testing contactless payments with smartphones. They will start a nationwide pilot this summer with 10,000 people, following up the previous tests at the end of 2015 and in early 2016. The new pilot will see travellers check in and out of public transport and see how much their trip cost with an app on their smartphones. The ten previous transactions will all be available for viewing on the app. The pilot is limited to Android smartphone users.
