Dutch parliament opposes EC net neutrality proposal

The Dutch parliament has passed a motion calling on the government to defend the country's net neutrality legislation against the European Commission. The 'Connected Continent' legislation recently proposed by the EC would allow operators and ISPs to charge extra for premium services, something that may go against the Dutch legislation passed last year. The parliamentary motion said this would create a new online "tollway" alongside the open internet.
