Dutch premium channels, streaming services increase ad spend

Preimum TV channels and streaming services are increasing their ad spend in the Netherlands. According to research by Telecompaper, the two together spent as much in the first three quarters of 2015 already as in all of 2014 (EUR 36 million gross). The service Videoland Unlimited was most active in above-the-line advertising, spending around EUR 10 million in the three quarters. It first started advertising in Q4 2014, spending around EUR 7.8 million. Rival Netflix spent a smaller EUR 6 million in the year to date. Among the premium channels, Film 1 increased spending to around EUR 1.5
