Dutch privacy watchdog offers help ahead of protection rules

The privacy of citizens is increasingly coming under pressure. Companies and governments are gathering more and more data about people. They are also using sophisticated ways to follow and monitor people's communications and movements via more and more devices, such as via cameras, gps, apps, wearables and even the TV and the smartphone Wi-Fi signal. Aleid Wolfsen, chairman of Dutch privacy watchdog Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP), believes citizens should have something to say about what is happening to this information.
