Dutch regulator proposes deregulation of fixed telephony

Dutch regulator ACM has proposed a partial deregulation of the fixed telephony, declaring KPN no longer dominant in certain segments as it faces increased competition from alternative providers. Almost 85 percent of Dutch consumers are now using digital telephony, and the share on PSTN lines is falling steadily. The ACM estimates that by the end of 2019, only 5 percent will use traditional fixed lines. In the large business market, KPN also faces growing competition from a wide variety of providers. KPN will only remain regulated in the small business market, for customers with 2-12 lines,
