Dutch slow to adopt fitness apps, Runkeeper most popular

Friday 13 May 2016 | 11:47 CET | News
Fitness apps have yet to take off in the Netherlands, according to research by the Telecompaper Consumer panel. While wearables and activity apps like FitBit and Jawbone are increasingly popular in the US, they are only used by a minority of Dutch consumers. The Runkeeper app is the most popular, installed on 12 percent of Dutch smartphones. It's used especially by 20-39 year-olds. Only 1 percent have the FitBit app and none use Jawbone or Misfit.
