Dutch smartphone penetration grows to 80%

Eighty percent of Dutch consumers own smartphones, up from 76 percent a year ago, according to research by GfK. That's equal to about 10.6 million smartphone owners in the country. Penetration ranges from 93 percent of 13-17 year-olds to 55 percent of over-65s. Almost two-thirds (65%) of consumers aged over 13 also own tablets, equal to 8.6 million people. Tablet penetration has changed little in the past six months, GfK found, after increasing the first six months of the year from 61 to 65 percent.
