Dutch smartphone penetration reaches 85%

Friday 4 March 2016 | 09:12 CET | News
The Dutch smartphone penetration reached 85 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015, up by 1 percent point from three months earlier, according to the latest edition of TP:Basics. Smartphone penetration has increased 16 percent points in the past two years but appears to be starting to flatten. Already 97 percent of teenagers have smartphones, while penetration is lowest among 70-79 year-olds, at 53 percent. The difference in smartphone penetration between men and women has also largely disappeared, although among people over 50, men are still more likely to have the devices than women.
