Dutch smartphone penetration tops 80%, tablet ownership flat

Tablet penetration in the Netherlands was little changed last year, while more people started using smartphones, according to the Media Standard Survey by ratings group SKO. At the end of 2016, 80.8 percent of the Dutch aged 13 or older had smartphones, up from 74.9 percent a year earlier. Tablet penetration was 57.8 percent, versus 57.0 percent in 2015. The share of consumers with a laptop rose slightly, to 72.8 percent from 71.5, while desktop ownership fell to 44.3 percent from 45.6.
